Job Description :
This Senior System Engineer position is part of the Advanced Communications Applications (ACA) Department working Test and Training products for military ranges. The primary role is a technical director/lead system engineer to provide leadership for the Range Instrumentation Waveform (RIW) requirement definition and validation. The requirement validation will be accomplished through simulation and lab testing using prototype hardware. Success in the requirement definition and validation will lead toward a follow on production award. RIW is an Air Armament Command (AAC) program to develop a data link that meets the performance requirements for military test range training through 2020. RIW is a joint program with Advanced Technology Center (ATC) and ACA. During the first phase, the individual will work closely with ATC to capture the RIW waveform and network requirements and support initial validation through simulation. During the second phase, the individual will lead the prototype design, build, integration and lab validation testing. As TD, the individual will be required to lead proposal efforts to win the RIW production as well as future programs that emerge from this technology development. The ideal candidate would have the following demonstrated skills:

* Demonstrated successful technical leadership and the ability to execute programs to successful completion;
* Developed effective customer relationships to successful resolve program issues
* Demonstrated expertise in RF/COM data link development.
* Understand networking concepts (i.e. OSI stack and standard protocols based on Ethernet)
* Translate concepts and potential solutions into system level architectures with a flow down into hardware / software functional requirements (DOORS)
* Have experience with the full product life cycle development process.
* Meet cost and performance goals
* Strong technical communications and writing skills

The candidate must be highly motivated, self directed, interface well with Program Office, can work in a team environment and obtain a DoD secret security clearance.
