You will work in the Technology and Engineering group and alongside the other members of our web development and production teams. You will have hands-on responsibilities for the development, testing, and deployment of front-end software solutions centered around some of the most popular television content today; this includes high-traffic web sites, industry-leading broadband applications, and other groundbreaking R & D projects. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be extensively involved in the design and implementation of the next generation of ABC Digital Media. You will be responsible for the design, architecture and implementation of new systems, features, and enhancements to Disney.com as well as integration with new and existing systems for the Disney.com website properties. You will also be responsible for giving technical guidance and support to QA and documentation teams, lead small to medium size development teams, and support all stages of the software development lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
·Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in field
· 5+ years of software design and implementation in Java.
·Proficiency in all aspects of software architecture and development including identifying requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
·Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
·Strong experience with content and data driven web-based applications
·Project leadership experience

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
·Strong knowledge of Java, with experience with Spring, Struts, Hibernate, etc.
·Web Technologies - HTML, JavaScript, HTTP, Servlets, JSP, PHP, XML, SOAP, AJAX
·Databases - MS SQLServer, SQL, JDBC
·Application/Web servers - Tomcat, IIS (EJB containers, Apache a plus)
·Experience working with source control systems (VSS, CVS, PVCS, etc.)
·Experience with PERL, ANT, XML
·Experience with Content Management Systems and Web Publishing
·Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design
·Web Application Best Practices
