Job Summary: Reporting to the Director IT, Auctions Services, direct all aspects of large scope internal projects approved by the Board of Directors. The Strategic Projects Manager will help to drive results by ensuring common, repeatable processes are used to manage projects and meet customer needs. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed at all times. Ensure that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins and schedules from the Corporate Office and the Director IT, Auctions Services. Maintain a good flow of communication with the Department employees and within the Corporation.

2. Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.

3. Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints and disputes and resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner. Advise the Director IT, Auctions Services of serious complaints or incidents.

4. Participate in strategic planning sessions with IT management and business management stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project and ensure that project goals are in line with business objectives.

5. Act as a single point of contact for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects.

6. Lead projects from inception through implementation; manage all related project activities including project deliverables and project strategies.

7. Work in partnership with business and IT leaders to obtain and commit necessary resources to support assigned projects.

8. Participate with Purchasing and Legal to negotiate contracts and manage overall vendor relationships to ensure project cost control and delivery objectives.

9. Manage project budgets, oversee project costs and report on budget status and variances.


10. Ensure compliance with PMO standards and guidelines, using appropriate project management tools, processes and procedures.

11. Recommend specific staffing requirements for newly approved projects. Identify and recommend the most appropriate resources (vendors) for the program needs.

12. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.

13. Maintain positive employee relations and morale whenever possible. Practice sound leadership and human relations principles to promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. Resolve employee relations problems, complaints, suggestions, etc. Follow-through and communicate employee relations problems to the Director of Information Technology. Evaluate and take positive, consistent, disciplinary action on infractions of company policies and procedures as defined in the employee disciplinary policy. Conduct written warnings, suspensions and terminations of employees with the assistance of Human Resources as necessary.

14. Monitor all area related conditions, property and equipment within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety. Advise Facilities of all breakdowns and maintenance immediately.

15. Make sure all area conditions do not threaten employee safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents immediately. Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.


Educational Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years experience in IT program/project management, software development, and large-scale deployment with strong business interfacing and presentation skills are required. The SP Manager must have program/project skills at the strategic and tactical levels (including cost estimation, technology selection, vendor management, consulting interaction, risk analysis, strategy development and project planning) in support of PM activitiesdf-tc
