Description
Robert Half Technology is seeking an IT Product Data Management (PDM) Process Leader for a Gastonia client who will be responsible for executing, developing, document and implementing PDM deployment plans and training. Develop, document and implement PDM system standards and facilitate uniform application of the system across the company to facilitate document control, design control and change management. Serve as the central point of contact and provide for comprehensive maintenance for the PDM IT system.I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• PDM subject matter expert on technical matters• Establish, document and maintain PDM process standards• Provide system training beyond that provided by plant level training resources and mentor system users.• Facilitate legacy data loading• Perform SmarTeam system administration/maintenance functions:o Investigate PDM system problems and coordinate with Group IT and vendor representatives as appropriate.o Coordinates SmarTeam System software upgrades and hardware maintenance o Coordinate suggested system data model changes and execute approved modificationso Maintain Oracle database and vault replication processeso Maintain PDM system user database and security authorizations.o Maintain PDM system licenses and recommend reallocations or acquisitions.o Archive completed superseded system documents. • Perform other duties as may be assignedo Maintain MS Project Server application and hardwareo Support plant level Access database applicationsInternal Relationships:• Reports to Director• Interacts with location specific PDM administrators.• Interacts with PDM system users at all levels (plant staff, engineers, supervisors and production personnel) to provide training and assistance with PDM methods and procedures. • Interacts with project leaders.• Interacts with company and plant IT resources as well as WAN/LAN administrators.External Relationships:• Interacts with PDM implementation consultants• Interacts with PDM software support personnelII. MEASUREMENTS• Number of system outages with incident documentation• On-time delivery of requested projects and daily system support• Proper installation and maintenance of PDM software• Current, timely and accurate documentation of PDM system• Number of active PDM users• Number of electronic ECR’s processedIII. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION• Education – Bachelor degree required. Significant experience may be substituted. • Experience – Three to five years in Information Technology. Minimum 2 years experience with Oracle data base application administration. Experience with quality systems or engineering desired. • Functional Training – o Experience with SmarTeam or similar PDM system desired. o Experience with CAD applications desired.o Application of database software applications to manufacturing systems preferred.o Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Access, Excel, and Word) required.IV. MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED• Ability to train, coach and mentor PDM users• Ability to articulate PDM system concepts • Excellent written & verbal communication skills• Ability to create training modules and system documentation• Strong analytical background including ability to assess IT software and hardware problems and interface with higher level resources • Ability to create system level solutions• Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization• Problem-solving skills• Ability & willingness to achieve excellent results with minimal supervision.
