This is a contract to perm role with our client that is the largest online travel company.

You will work closely with development, business and other IT teams, providing expertise and hands-on support in your areas of responsibility. You will also participate in a 7x24 tier 3 support organization, playing a mission-critical role in ensuring top-notch production performance.

This is an IT Operations team that is the production system owner of the e-commerce systems and various language & syndicate sites, as well as various applications and tools that run behind the scenes as part of those sites. This group installs applications, establishes appropriate configurations, threshholds and monitoring, creates documentation for the Tier 1 and Tier 2 24x7 support teams, and have their own on-call rotation providing 24x7 Tier 3 support for those production systems.

The more specific requirement for this position is the use of the SonicMQ message broker by Progress Software. This is a new technology for the company and as such this new position would specialize in the operational ownership and support in this area, while also learning about and supporting other systems as part of an on-call rotation. So you would need to have some enterprise messaging background experience, preferably with that exact product but since it's fairly specialized and a smaller player in the marketplace, they are really trying to cast a wider net and look for someone with, say, Tibco, IBM MQ, or other messaging experience.
