CDI has an exciting opportunity waiting for you! We are looking for exceptional people! We have an immediate need for a Systems Architect.

This is a NAS system architect role in the Branded Products business unit.
Domestic travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research, evaluate and prototype network attached storage (NAS) related technologies:
Hardware platforms and embedded solutions,
Software features and packages,
Manufacturing processes with emphasis on product quality and cost savings
Conduct feasibility studies and prototype new technologies.
Work with the systems engineers to develop products.
Work with other functional groups and program management to define project requirements.
Work with other functional groups to assess business impacts such as customer support costs.
Define product specifications and testing requirements.
Share knowledge with other developers and functional groups through documentation and reviews.
Keep up to date on consumer products’ technologies and competitors.

Relevant Skills/Experience:

At least 10 years experience with C and C++.
At least 5 years embedded Linux system development and/or integration experience.
Extensive hands-on software and product development experience.
Strong knowledge of hardware functions including processors, network controllers, SDRAM, USB, etc.
Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows and Mac OS X networking features such as file systems, protocols, Plug-n-Play, etc.
Experience with network technologies such as TCP/IP, SMB, web services, etc.
Experience with development environments such as GNU compilers, etc.
Experience with tools such as Subversion and lint.
Experience with functional test and debugging practices.
Software development processes, including revision control and documentation.

Desired Skills:

Storage industry experience.
Knowledge of mass storage technologies including RAID, ATA, SCSI, and disk drives.
Linux kernel and network performance tuning experience.
Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes.
Understand the use of and market for mass-storage products.
Understand competitors and competing technologies.df-tc
