Robert Half Technology is currently looking for a talented network/system administrator for a 6 month contract-to-hire position in Charlotte NC. SUMMARYThe right candidate will be responsible for monitoring systems as they relate to the data center.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Maintaining networking components for client in close coordination with other network engineers; includes troubleshooting network problems or outages. • Develop documentation as it related to processes within the data center.• Doing research and making recommendations with regards to updating networking techniques. • Will be responsible for system hardware and software modifications as required by clients to support data for their systems. • Document computer operations and creating user documentation as required. • Participates in the network design process. • Provides management with a status of work in progress on a frequency defined by management. • Ensures all work is performed to meet customer satisfaction standards and requirements. • Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures and safety rules and regulations. • Performs related duties as assigned.EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTSRequirements include 2+ years of production environment, systems/networking experiencePREFFERED SKILLS• Detailed experience with server hardware troubleshooting, setup and maintenance, including installing and configuring fault tolerant RAID disk storage systems, NAS, SCSI, PCI, and other hardware devices including, NICs, processors, memory, tape drives, etc .• Scripting experience for automation in a Windows Enterprise environment.• Detailed experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining server OS and related software applications. • Understanding of OS hardening, anti-virus, intrusion detection. • Solid understanding of supporting a VMware environment.• Experience with Linux is nice to have• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.• Experience with the following OSs and applications desired: Windows 2000/2003 Server, Windows 2000/2003 Advanced Server.• Experience with many Microsoft server applications.• MCSE/MCSA/MCP Certification is preferred.• Good analytical and problem solving skills • Good interpersonal skills; effective team player• Good group presentation skills• Good analytical skills• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing• Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
