MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

This position will be responsible for a variety of activities and support efforts within the Telecommunication Department. This position will be responsible for the acquisition and support of Black Berry devices. This position will also be responsible for coordination, setup and support of the Video Conference systems. Project involvement may include working with vendors for implementation of voice circuits (T1, business lines, toll free).

The candidate will work on Telecom service requests for pagers, cellular telephones, voicemail requests, repair tickets and analysis. The individual will manage the inventory of returned technology equipment and maintain accurate tracking records of equipment and user profiles.

Other duties may include:
  • Processing of incoming calls to the main switchboard console as needed in a backup capacity
  • Assisting with the preparation of telephone directories
  • Maintaining user profiles within the call accounting application
  • Providing analysis of cellular telephone activity and recommending changes for service improvements or cost reduction

    This position requires an understanding of Cellular and Blackberry technology; Video Conferencing; telephony and voicemail familiarity, and knowledge in administrative and technical aspects of the telecommunications field.

    The candidate must possess working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. MS Access Database familiarity would be a plus.

    Exceptional telephone etiquette and customer service orientation are required to work effectively with users, telephone technicians, vendors, peers, and management.
