We are currently seeking an individual to perform the following job duties for one of our largest clients in the Healthcare industry:
Will work with other team members in providing production and on-call support for a UDB AIX environment.. Must be willing to regularly work under demanding deadlines. Primary responsibility will be UDB Unix Database Administration support for production databases. Provide UDB support on 24x7 high available systems and be responsible for physical databases installation, setup and designs of multiple IBM AIX/Mainframe DB2 UDB environments. Additional responsibilities: Test and apply patches/fix packs for the DB2 UDB AIX. Interface with various application teams to translate business requirements into database design. You will also review, recommend and enforce database standards and procedures with minimal direction. Identify and recommend performance enhancements to the application teams. Maintain, create, and improve database related documentation. Requires minimal supervision to complete a task.

This position will share support for mission-critical database instances, including responsibility for after hours on-call support for issue resolution.

Experience/Skills
3+ years in performing all aspects of UDB database administration and maintenance.
Experience in UDB upgrade/migration.
Must have a strong understanding of UDB backup and recovery procedures.
Proven experience in supporting 24x7 high volume UDB production databases.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments, as well as good planning skills
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Working knowledge of AIX platforms and IBM Mainframe platforms would be helpful
Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
Should have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to solve problems quickly and thoroughly.
Proven ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the IT group's knowledge of and concern for, users' business needs.
