Robert Half Technology has partnered with a well known client in the Automotive industry seeking a Sr. Storage Engineer for a 3 month contract-to-hire opportunity. This high level SAN Engineer will provide technical resources for all Data Storage and Storage Area Networks. In addition, the candidate will ensure the SAN environment is well maintained and provide day-to-day management of all SAN facilities, ensuring all equipment, including SAN switches and storage cabinets are monitored and maintained. Finally, the candidate will engineer SAN Infrastructure and switches.

The engineer will possess a high level of knowledge in UNIX (specifically with Solaris and AIX) and will exhibit a high competency specific to the EMC Storage product line. In addition, the candidate will have a demonstrated ability to design and implement high-end, scalable, enterprise-quality storage solutions. Candidates will possess the following skills:
  • Subject matter expert in SAN technologies
  • Extensive understanding of RAID Technologies
  • Expert knowledge of EMC Control Center, EMC Navisphere and EMC Celerra Manager
  • Expert in implementing zones, zonesets, and VSans
  • Extensive understanding of Remote Replication (SRDF, SANCopy, MirrorView)
  • Provide vision for a growing SAN environment
  • Extensive Experience using IBM server hardware
  • Keep current on trends, hardware and software
  • Scripting or programming (Shell, Perl, Java, Python, C++) a major plus
  • EMC or equivalent SAN certification a plus
