Job Description: This senior-level professional is a seasoned individual producer who applies an advanced, in-depth knowledge of technical concepts, practices and procedures. This person may act as a member of quick-response user-support team and will often work under demanding deadlines, operating independently to resolve complex end-user problems. Education and Typical Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related technical support experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in a full range of technology platforms and systems. Special Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in the installation, configuration, and support of SUN Solaris (8,9,10), ideally in an enterprise environment.
  • Additional skills in HP-UX and/or Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) would be useful.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills are essential and a proven ability to work to strict SLAs in a demanding environment will be advantageous.
  • Experience in most of the following areas required: SAN storage and multipathing solutions, Veritas Cluster Services/SUN Cluster Services, Veritas File Systems, Veritas Volume Manager, SUN Disk Suite, VMware Virtualisation, IBM Blade technology.
  • Vendor certification from Sun Microsystems, HP or Red Hat an advantage.
  • Experience of working within an ISO20000 compliant environment with emphasis on Change, Incident and Problem management is essential.
  • Ability to write and follow defined procedures a requirement.
