Description
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Product Development, responsible for the full software development life cycle of projects/programs and the direction of technical and business resources of a functional Product Development team.

Direct the development, maintenance and testing of software applications in support of the operations.
Actively participates in long range strategy and policy development to address complex business issues, provides leadership to cross functional teams.
Serves as the primary point of contact from project/program inception to delivery.
Provide general management for a team of up to 50-150 employees and consultants.
Defines and develops project management infrastructure, manages a methodology driven quality plan, monitors and controls the quality of the deliverable as well as manages the project completion process through customer acceptance.
Works with business unit managers and forms alliances on projects, operational decision, scheduling requirements/conflicts and vendor management contract clarification.
Ensures that commitments to schedule, quality and budgets are met
Ensures that internal and external communication channels remain open and operational.
Ensures that appropriately skilled staff members are available to perform all product development efforts.
Conducts project reviews for all development projects on a regularly schedule basis and acts proactively to remove barriers.
Participates in inter and intra departmental process development and updates driving continuous improvement.
Performs reviews of new technologies and make recommendations based on current and future requirements. Insures that overall technical and architectural direction is consistent with organizational needs
Participates in policy making and strategy formulation within the Product Development Group.

Experience/Skills
Education - BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline. (MS preferred)
Management Experience. - 10+ years of line management for large multi location software development efforts.
Technical/Industry Experience - 10+ years related technical experience focused in multi product, large scale, high performance, high quality transaction processing system design and development.
Benefits System Experience a plus.
Working knowledge of full SDLC through delivery of multiple projects on time and budget.
Proficient in Web-based software.
Data driven to increase productivity.
Communication Skill - Ability to accurately communicate complex technical issues to Sr. Management and Business/Programmatic issue to Technical and Project Managers.
Leadership - Must be self-disciplined, organized, and must be able to motivate staff members at all levels.
Must be able to work collaboratively with a can do attitude and a great sense of urgency.
