Web Architect

Responsibilities:
. As a Web Solution Architect you will consult with the business to define project requirements and scope- identifying opportunities for refining approach while balancing business imperatives and system constraints.
. Flag high risk items and determine necessary measures by which they can be mitigated.
. Provide expert advice pertaining to web projects, but are also expected to advise on projects that are only partially or non web related (i.e. back-end system design).
. Work closely with PM, BSA, technical project lead and business customers to formulate the high level IT solution- for which you will be held accountable.
. Take appropriate measures to validate solution from functional (i.e. engage stakeholders) and a non-functional perspective (i.e. build prototypes and simulations).
. Ensure that the solution is aligned with the long term target architecture of the company; during design, you will ensure departmental best practices are followed.
. Document solution vision and architecture using industry standards such as UML and build buy-in for solution vision with all necessary parties- including presenting solution to the Architecture Review Council for approval.
. Work with the project technical lead to ensure a clear understanding of the target architecture exists amongst all team members and act as consultant to the team and mentor to team members throughout the project lifetime.
. Collaborate with business partners to understand business vision, develop architectural vision that is aligned with that of the business and use this information to formulate strategic initiatives so the IT remains proactive to the needs of the business.

Requirements:
. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other technical field required
. Candidates must have significant experience developing enterprise web site applications in the role of developer and project lead; web site architecture experience is more than desirable.
. 7+ years experience in web application development and design
. 3+ years experience as a technical lead/architect
. Previous experience working for a fortune 1000 company
. Proven experience operating in the s/w architect role
. Proven ability to analyze complex business problems and develop the vision for the technical solution
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
. Exposure to enterprise SOA a plus
. Preferred: Other professional qualifications (MCSD) a plus

Skills
. 5+ years experience of developing / architecting web based applications hosted on the Windows platform (IIS)
. 3+ years SQL experience, preferably MS SQL Server
. 3+ years C / C++ experience
. 2+ years ATL / COM / COM+ experience
. 2+ years Microsoft .Net experience: Strong ASP.Net experience; thorough understanding of ASP.Net technology (System.Web)
. Working experience with .Net framework: System.Data; System.EnterpriseServices; System.Runtime.Remoting; System.Xml
. Strong XML skills: XPath, XSLT
. Expertise in OOA/D
. Solid UML expertise
. Working knowledge of iterative/agile development methodologies
. Knowledge of SOAP and GXA specifications a plus (WS-Security, WS-Routing etc)
. Preferred: ColdFusion experience a definite plus
