Description
Our client is technology company located in South Orange County and they are in search of mid-to-Sr. Level Windows/Unix Systems Administrator for a 30-60 day contract opportunity. Position may also have the potential to be converted over to full-time employee status at the start of the year.

The primary responsibility of this position will be backup management by utilizing snapshot technologies both in a Windows and Unix environment. Selected candidate will be performing daily re runs.\ in a 250 server environment, hosting 35-40 terabytes of storage, and supporting approx. 1000 users (500 local/500 remote). Currently on Veritas 5.1

Day to day job responsibilities will include:

--> Responsible for supporting all system administration tasks to include backup administration and remediation, operating system installations, server and storage space management tasks, network and SAN configuration, automation and scripting responsibilities, in addition to diagrams and documentation of environments.
--> Excellent communication skills providing for clear articulation of complicated technologies into terms understandable by non-technical personnel. Ability to write extensive documents to track and illustrate technical operational procedures and visions.
--> Trains employees on system procedures and proper utilization, covering operating systems, software and design training. Quickly adapt and learn native processes and procedures unique to this environment.
--> Strong work ethic and character that provides for a solid sense of commitment to company and team including punctuality and the ability to be flexible supporting off hour/day support activities, and the ability to meet department responsibilities by being prompt and responsive to customer requirements

Experience/Skills
Required Skills:

--> Performed in role of Systems Administrator with emphasis on Backup Management
--> Balanced understanding of both Windows and Unix systems administration
--> Experience automating processes with shell scripts (korn, bourne, or c shell)
--> Experience with SnapShot technology (Network Appliance snapshots, Veritas Storage Checkpoints)
Candidate must have excellent communication and documentation skills
--> Experience with environment diagrams using tools such as Visio is a plus
